Jason Dewland is a co-founder of Sidecar Learning and serves as the Business & Project Manager. Jason came to this project because of his extensive use of the platform. He has utilized the platform to teach over 3000 student business research skills on a multitude of different platforms.

As Associate Librarian at the University of Arizona, works in the Research & Learning department where he serves as a business and tech transfer librarian. He has partnered with the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship to provide the students there with an in-depth knowledge of business intelligence research. In his role as a tech transfer librarian he co-founded a unique partnership between the University of Arizona Libraries and Tech Launch Arizona, he is the coordinator of a team of librarians that provide patent and market research in support of University of Arizona technology.

Prior to entering the library profession he worked as a purchasing manager in the automotive industry, as a consultant to small manufactures, and as a project manager in the information technology sector. He also served in the Peace Corps in Macedonia and Ukraine as a business consultant.

Yvonne Mery

Associate Librarian at the University of Arizona Libraries, Yvonne is part of the Research and Learning department where she serves as an instructional design librarian for projects from across the Library. Yvonne has designed and implemented online courses in information literacy skills for undergraduate students and collaborated with departments across campus to support students and instructors in their research needs.

Yvonne has co-authored several papers and a book on the integration of information literacy in online classes and presented at numerous national and international conferences on best practices for online information literacy instruction. Yvonne has also designed and delivered workshops and courses in instructional design and development. She has extensive experience working with a diverse group of students in departments across campus.

Yvonne holds an MA in Library Sciences and an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language in addition to a BA in English Literature. Yvonne is an active member of several national associations including the e-learning Guild, EDUCAUSE, and the American Library Association.

Rodrigo Savage

Programmer & Machine Learning Expert

Graduate researcher, entrepreneur, passionate about social justice, cyclist, runner, rower and swimmer. My interests are in applying machine learning techniques in interesting problems that benefit people lives. My current research is developing algorithmsusing machine and deep learning to model and extract information from high-resolution images of Mars. I detect craters in Martian images with a deep neural network. I then use the position and diameter from the previous step to guide my unsupervised algorithm to estimate the parameters of the crater using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation method. I use Sci-kit learn, EMCEE, openCV, TensorFlow, CUDA, OpenGL, compute shaders and matlab for this project.
